Building on decades of proven reliability on the trail, the new mechanical DEORE XT rear derailleur and the new shifter offer optimised ergonomics and improved shifting performance. In this way, SHIMANO brings top-level innovations to one of the most trusted component families in mountain biking.
Ergonomics for greater control – The new DEORE XT shifter offers optimised ergonomics and a more intuitive feel. A shorter lever travel, a clearly defined pressure point and a more precise second detent ensure direct feedback. At the same time, the revised lever position improves control on the trail, whilst the optimised cable routing ensures a tidy cockpit.
Several shifter variants are available for different bike types and drivetrain configurations. For 12-speed HYPERGLIDE+ drivetrains, the SL-M8200 shifter offers a multi-shift function for classic mountain bikes. The SL-M8210 has been specially developed for high-torque e-bikes and allows only single-shift operations to protect the cassette. As a third option, the SL-M8230 is designed for 11-speed LINKGLIDE drivetrains. All DEORE shift levers are available in both an I-SPEC EV version and a variant with a handlebar clamp.
