TECHNOLOGIES
Tubeless Ready (TR)
Tubeless tires have many advantages: You can drive with less air pressure and therefore have better traction, the rolling resistance is lower than with hose, and where there is no hose, the risk of breakdowns is also reduced. Maxxis TR tires are better prepared for mounting with sealing milk than other tubeless ready tires, because the bead of our TR tires is completely covered with a rubber layer like a real UST tubeless tire. This means that tubeless mounting is successful with the first inflation and with little liquid on all rims that comply with the standard dimensions.
Double Down (DD)
DoubleDown (DD) is our casing solution for enduro racing and e-bike use. Two layers of our lightweight 120 TPI casing material are combined with a butyl sidewall insert to create a highly durable tire with more trail feedback than a Downhill casing tire. DoubleDown tires are marginally lighter than their Downhill counterparts, but itās really the difference in ātrail feelā that sets the two apart. Some riders may prefer the highly damped ride provided by a Downhill casing tire.
3C MaxxGrip
Maxxisā 3C MaxxGrip compound uses the stickiest, slowest rebounding rubber we offer in a mountain bike tire. This high traction compound is the same one used by our top World Cup Downhill and Enduro World Series athletes and is now available in a variety of casing configurations to cover all riders.
Wide Trail (WT)
Wide Trail (WT) construction optimizes the tireās tread layout and profile on todayās modern, wider rims. Traditional tires are designed around older, narrower rims and can create an overly square tire profile, leading to less than optimal performance. WT tires are optimized for a 35mm inner rim width but are proven to work over a range from 30-35mm inner rim widths, depending on the riderās preference.

Always had good results with the EXO casing, put this on the back of an e-bike, b/c wt don't really matter. Great traction going forward & up, holds damn good in corners. Great traction on the brakes. Loose sumer soil where I live (read moon dust with chunder) these work well. In the soft, grippysoilnin spring š. There on a LOT of builds for a reason. Some people complain about rolling restance. Meh... drop a gear, enjoy the views, These are made traxlction and the way DownHill... its in the fricking name.
Iām a heavier rider at about 215 lbs with riding gear on. Upgrading to the double down casing has given me so much more confidence into corners where my previous EXO casing tires would roll on the rim very often. The tread pattern really bites into the dirt and climbing techy sections this tire always hooks up and keeps me climbing.
Great choice
The DHR2 is a consistent performer - you know exactly what you are going to get with this one. If you know, you know. If you don't, then its time to give it a try.
Best combo for my use
